All this and chocolate tart to finish October 23, 2008

Jinx and I were treated to a lovely lunch by Sue today. How civilised to leave work and have a home cooked meal that didn’t involve crowding into a noisy restaurant. Not that I’ve got anything against noisy restaurants. I like them and frequent them often. But sometimes it’s pleasant to have a relaxing change. […]

as weak as you can make it really and still call it coffee September 17, 2008

Normally I wouldn’t post photos of coffee and cake, but in the aftermath of the yucky virus a couple of weeks ago I lost all taste and inclination for coffee – sad times indeed. This morning Anne and I resumed our Wednesday morning “meetings” and I managed to take this photo to mark the occasion. […]

Maybe it’s because I haven’t had any coffee since Saturday September 3, 2008

On a recovery day from the weekend virus and rehearsal last night, I just finished watching Senator Kim Carr at the National Press Club. The Minister for Science, Innovation and Research (at least I think that’s the title) it was yet another almost incomprehensible display of government speak designed to make it look like the […]

Foucault (and nice coffee) July 30, 2008

Anne and I met again for Foucault (and nice coffee) this morning. This time we tackled Part 4- Prisons: Complete and Austere Institutions. We’re getting excited because for a while there it didn’t look like we’d ever get to the end. But we have set ourselves the final two sections for next week. Just as […]

no froth at all part 2 July 29, 2008

OK so I only have myself to blame. I returned to the coffee club for takeaway coffee and this time I was rewarded with MOSTLY FROTH and no milk. Is this the universe playing a joke…did someone tell them about the inadequate froth to milk ratio of last Tuesday? No more… (famous last words probably)
