A drive out of town

Today we took a drive out of town. First stop the Falkirk Wheel. It wasn’t something that I had been desperate to see but Dad was very keen. After seeing how this giant feat of engineering changes the way boats move through canals and locks/lochs in the Forth Valley I was pretty darn impressed. Then we drove to Stirling which is just down the road where Mum and I did the castle. It has amazing views of the surrounding countryside, cannons, towers, battlements, royal apartments and everything a castle should have. It also had really good museum displays of the history of the site and the Scottish kings and queens. I’m gradually getting the hang of the lineage…it’s very complicated!

Tomorrow we are going back into the Old town to do an underground tour, meeting up with my aunt and uncle who as luck would have it are also holidaying in Scotland. This is where our itineraries cross!
